We are not gatekeepers at Upsource, so we’re sharing some of our favourite podcasts for business owners, whether you’re just starting out or scaling up.

Women’s Business
Nicky Elliot speaks to women about their career stories, from first jobs to where they are today. Thought provoking, inspiring, often funny, sometimes tear jerking, Nicky is a great conversationalist and isn’t afraid to ask difficult questions. If you’re inspired by the stories of other women and small business owners, try this podcast.
Winging It
Lucy Hitchcock is a marketeer, business owner and wine influencer, who’s podcast is a really transparent look at how she runs her businesses, the strategies she has used and what did and didn’t work. Not only is Lucy charming, but she’s candid. The podcast started as she went self-employed and has charted her journey to multiple scaling business owner, so wherever you are in your business journey, there’s helpful information for you.
The Small Business Sessions
Weekly podcasts from Enterprise Nation interviewing small business owners in all kinds of industries, and discussing important questions and themes like diversity and inclusion, community building and branding. This podcast is excellent for small business owners who need to be across everything top level, with practical tips and talking points.
Next Big Thing
Web3 can be an intimidating subject for those of us not embedded in the industry. Lauren Ingrams, found of Women of Web3, breaks down big concepts like blockchain, and decentralised tech accessible. If you’re curious about tech, AI, what’s coming up next this podcast has lots of useful information and resources. As Lauren says, this tech affects everyone, not just people in the industry and levelling up your knowledge could give you invaluable skills.
Starting the Conversation
Another transparent small business owner, Alice Benham is a business and marketing strategist who openly shares her sales techniques, breaks down and evaluates her product launches and perhaps most helpfully, encourages business owners to take ‘messy action’. As business owners we can try too hard to get everything ‘right’; for Alice, done is better than perfect, which is a message we all need to hear.

Steph Melodia speaks to business owners and founders and gives not just insightful commentary but practical food for thought. An ex-CEO herself, Steph is a shrewd interviewer with guests that include business strategists and investors as well as entrepreneurs to give expert advice that founders need!

We couldn’t have a podcast rundown without including this! Caroline’s podcast speaks to female founders who are raising a family while scaling their businesses. Interviewing some big names as well as women who are towards the beginning of their business journey, Caroline asks some hard questions. But the podcast and its guests are testament to what female founders can achieve because they are mothers, no despite being mothers.
